Rainfall Warning Issued for Metro Vancouver as Atmospheric River Approaches

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver as an atmospheric river system is set to bring heavy rain to southwest British Columbia starting Friday.

The warning states that the heavy rain will continue into Saturday, with 40-70 mm expected across Metro Vancouver and the western Fraser Valley.

In the North Shore Mountains, rainfall totals could reach 100 mm, while 70-100 mm are likely along the Sea-to-Sky corridor.

Additional weather alerts have been issued for the Coquihalla Highway (Hope to Merritt) and the Sea-to-Sky Highway (Squamish to Whistler)
