Surrey launches Free Outdoor Movie Nights in Newton this August

Surrey, BC – This summer, enjoy a series of free Outdoor Movie Nights in Newton, part of the Focus Newton project designed to enhance community engagement and enliven public spaces. Join us for a series of delightful evenings under the stars, featuring some of your favorite films in various parks throughout Newton.

Bring your blankets or lawn chairs, gather your family and friends, and immerse yourself in the magic of movie nights in the park. Free popcorn will be available while supplies last, adding to the cozy outdoor cinema experience.

Event Schedule:

  • August 7: Shrek at Newton Athletic Park, starting at 9:15 p.m.
  • August 14: The Lego Movie 2 at TE Scott Park, starting at 9:00 p.m.
  • August 21: Honsla Rakh at Unwin Park, starting at 8:50 p.m.

General Information:
All movies will begin around sundown and are subject to weather conditions. We recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. For more details, please visit our event page.

The final movie night on August 21 will also feature the Sounds of Summer concert with performances by Mikey Jose and Ayla Tesler-Mabé starting at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, there will be an engagement pop-up to provide updates on the Focus Newton Action Plan.
